This intimate, beginner-friendly class introduces the foundational techniques of Shibari, the traditional Japanese art of rope bondage. Under the expert guidance of Miranda, you’ll receive hands-on instruction in a supportive and body-positive environment that emphasizes consent, communication, and creativity.
Shibari, which translates to “to tie” in Japanese, is not only a physical practice but also a deeply meditative and expressive art form. Historically rooted in kinbaku (tight binding), Shibari has evolved into a modern form of artistic and emotional connection. Many practitioners find it to be a powerful tool for mindfulness, trust-building, and self-awareness.
Why Shibari can be especially empowering for women:
-
Body reclamation: Shibari invites participants to experience their bodies in new, intentional ways—encouraging body acceptance and self-love through the beauty of form, tension, and stillness.
-
Consent and agency: Every tie is built on clear communication and mutual agreement, reinforcing autonomy and boundaries in a safe and respectful setting.
-
Confidence and strength: Learning to tie or be tied fosters confidence, focus, and control—whether you're exploring your dominant side or learning to surrender in a supported space.
-
Creative expression: From elegant chest harnesses to intricate floor work, Shibari is a visual and tactile art that empowers women to explore their sensual and artistic sides.
🧵 All necessary materials will be available for purchase during the session, so you’ll leave with the tools—and the knowledge—to continue your practice at home.
Perfect for beginners, this workshop offers a beautiful entry point into the world of rope. Whether you're looking to deepen a personal connection, explore artistic expression, or simply try something new—this class is for you.
